HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY PARTNERS WITH BMO HARRIS BANK TO ESTABLISH A VETERANS HOUSING INITIATIVE

Kansas City, Kansas (June 21, 2013) – Heartland Habitat for Humanity ( HHfH), serving five counties in the Kansas City area, has launched an initiative to engage and serve its local Veterans' community, including active military, Veterans, and Gold Star families. BMO Harris Bank is the presenting sponsor of the project. Engagement includes affordable housing and home preservation, volunteer opportunities, homeowner education, celebration of Veterans, and identification of Veterans needing assistance.

Tom Lally, Executive Director of Heartland Habitat for Humanity states, "Heartland Hab itat for Humanity is pleased and proud to announce our Veterans Housing Initiative. We are committed to strengthen families and communities by increasing the number of quality, affordable homes for single-family residents in the Greater Kansas City area, and to create opportunities for low-income families to develop equity and independence through homeownership. A public announcement of the Veterans Housing Initiative will take place at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building (Memorial Hall), 600 North 7th Street Kansas City, KS on Monday, June 24th at 10:30 am.
