Harris raises Small Business Lending Rate to 4.0 percent

CHICAGO, August 12, 2004 – Harris and its 27 Chicagoland community banks have raised the Harris Small Business Lending Rate to 4.0 percent from 3.75 percent, effective August 12, 2004. The Harris Small Business Lending Rate, introduced by Harris in early 1994, is, in effect, Harris' prime rate for small business, and tracks one-half percent below the Wall Street Journal Prime.
